AAFEN

Supporting Asian Americans in Federal Government

AAFEN champions fairness and inclusive representation for Asian Americans in the federal workforce.

About Us

In 2020, dedicated Asian American civil servants created Asian American Federal Employees for Nondiscrimination (AAFEN) to address discriminatory treatment at work and warrantless national security suspicions largely based on their family backgrounds.

Mission.

AAFEN fights discrimination against Asian American government employees, contractors, military service members and federal fund recipients who face undue suspicion as security threats due to their race, heritage, or national origins.

Vision.

AAFEN demands a government that fully recognizes the American identity of Asian Americans, free from suspicion based on recent immigration history or familial ties.

Our Work

AAFEN is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that provides comprehensive support to Asian American federal workers.

Facilitates access to legal and mental health networks, providing essential support to impacted individuals.

Advocates for policy reforms to address the disproportionate impact security clearance, overseas assignment, and insider threat practices have on Asian Americans.

Amplifies the voices of those who have felt silenced by unjust scrutiny, restoring their sense of worth and their pride in serving the public.

Collaborates other civil rights
organizations, federal employee resource groups (ERGs), science associations, privacy rights and government watchdog groups.

Testimonial

"AAFEN's impact isn't theoretical; it's real. It provides the tools, the network, and the institutional knowledge to fight back. For anyone in the federal workforce - especially those who have been sidelined, silenced, or dismissed - AAFEN is not just an organization; it is a lifeline."
