Asian Americans who face discrimination in the federal government often find themselves facing institutional barriers. To reach a favorable outcome for their case, the system has to be reformed. AAFEN collects stories from employees and advocates for policy reforms to address common issues.Employees can also feel isolated. They do not find support from the agency offices that purport to serve employees; therefore, they are on their own to understand their employee rights. AAFEN provides consultations and briefings for high-level decision makers in Washington, D.C. on issues negatively affecting Asian Americans. AAFEN reviews and recommends proposed bills and presents policy reform related to security clearance guidelines, assignment restrictions, workplace discrimination, privacy and research security.
